Developed by Dr. Drago Tesla Zoran in the 21st century, the Secret Mathematic (aka Secret Math, or just "The Math") provides a way to describe circumstances so perfectly and completely that these circumstances actually come into being.  Originally commandeered for military purposes, The Math was deemed too powerful for human use at the time, and is now kept solely in the minds of the Human Executives, whose minds Dr. Zoran created using the Math.  The Executives, self-appointed keepers of mankind, reserve this power for themselves with the intention of handing it back when humans have matured.  It is implied that there are interstellar enemies beyond our comprehension, against whom men will one day need to wield The Math.

In the timeline of Simon of Space, a terrorist group called The Equivalency arises.  This organization uses bits and pieces of more conventional mathematics (The Equivalent Mathematic) in an attempt to duplicate the power of the Secret Mathematic.  It is unclear how powerful the Equivalent Mathematic is or what the Executives think of this rebel group.

It is worth noting that The Math was concieved by Dr. Zoran while he was in post-secondary school in an extensive series of dreams in which Dr. Zoran played chess with his deceased sister.  He invariably awoke from these dreams with not only numerous algorithms based on chess movements that described various motions, but he was also in a state of massive sexual arousal.  This bothered his roommate to no small end.

The Math was first employed by Zoran to save a young girl from a falling lamp-post on the Rue de Trevise by hurling a cubed watermelon through the air, coliding with her and knocking her out of the way.
